OKF-120    Hematite    Isle of Elba, Italy.  Ex. Jim Turek Collection.  This specimen is a large cabinet specimen of substantial size and weight.  It measures approximately 15 x 12 x 7 cm overall with bright silver/ gray hematites to 1.3 cm across in large stacks which undulate across the surface of this impressive piece.  Most of one surface has heavy crystal coverage with a few bare areas where crystal stacks were.  The damage is very minimal for a piece this important.  The matrix is massive hematite with some surface alteration to goethite.  This is a fine display specimen from a classic European location.  400$

OKF-121    Chalcopyrite on Fluorite and Calcite    Guanajuato, Mexico.  Ex. Nancy Collins Collection.  This large hand like plate of tiny crystals is fully mineralized on bth sides and most of its edges.  It is damage free and shows dramatically different appearances on its two sides.  One is coated by gold chalcos on white calcite, giving it a darker appearance.  The other side has white calcites on white calcite and purple fluorite, giving that side a brighter effect.  The piece measures 13 x 10 cm and about 3 cm thick.  It is a substantial piece which has multiple layers, attractive coloring, good luster and displays great.  A deal at 150$

OKF-122    Rutile Twin    Champion Mine, Bishop, California.  Ex. Nancy Collins Collection.  A high luster, 2.8 cm twin sits up high off the matrix of this specimen.  There is one contact from another crystal on the side of the rutile but otherwise it is a damage free specimen.  Minor Styrofoam to be removed to improve its natural appearance.  An excellent rutile which could pass for a fine Graves Mountain, GA specimen with no trouble.  65$

OKF-123    Calcite on Fluorite    RESERVED    Denton Mine, Cave-In-Rock, Illinois.  Ex. Nancy Collins Collection.  The fluorite specimen shown here is a vibrant blue color with a small stack of white calcite for contrast.  This miniature measures 4 x 3.4 x 3 cm.  The base of fluorite is etched with tiny calcites or strontianites coating it and there is a contact from matrix or other crystals on backside.  A nice piece which displays well several different ways.  85$

OKF-124    Malachite on Calcite    RESERVED   Tsumeb, S. W. Africa.  Ex. Nancy Collins Collection.  The bright green malachite here has formed coatings on the underlying reddish brown calcites.  Both minerals show great luster and the form is super.  There are stacks of tiny calcite rhombs creating a very three dimensional effect which is accentuated by the overlying malachite.  The piece measures 4.8 x 3.3 x 2 cm.  One face is more thickly coated by the malachite while the opposite allows for more of the calcite to be viewed.  The specimen is a floater with no damage.  Great specimen!  160$

OKF-125    Siderite and Dolomite    Minas Gerais, Brazil.  Ex. Nancy Collins Collection.   6.6 x 6.5 x 3.4 cm plate of crystals which are all in tabular crystals.  The contrast between the white calcites and the gemmy/ translucent siderites is very nice.  Lots of depth to this specimen which is not readily evident in the photos.  One siderite has a minor edge rub otherwise it is in fine condition.  Unknown mineral included the calcites.  Difficult to find this material.  A desirable and displayable specimen.  425$

OKF-126    Descloizite    Tsumeb, S.W. Africa.  Ex. Nancy Collins Collection.  This specimen is 6 x 4.5 x 3.4 cm and is a complete floater would know visible points of attachment.  The color is the deep rich brownish red and the crystals are very high in luster.  There are a few crystals missing but the specimen still as good aesthetics and displays nicely.  100$

Casts

OKF-127    Marcasite Casts over Barite with Calcite    Mahoning Mine, Cave-In-Rock, Illinois. Ex. Nancy Collins Collection.  This is an unusual specimen composed of gold colored marcasite which ones coated tabular berry crystals.  The marcasite now forms casts which were once on top of the barite terminations.  The opposite side of the piece is coated by micro calcite crystals.  The specimen is a damage free floater which measures 4.7 x 5.3 cm and is approx. 1.7 cm thick.  60$

OKF-128    Calcite and Sphalerite    RESERVED  Elmwood mine, Carthage, Tennessee.  Ex. Nancy Collins Collection.  A killer miniature would bright purple fluorites to 1.3 cm on edge.  There is a .7 cm twinned sphalerite crystal which is totally gemmy.  Minor calcite as well.  There is contact along the back edge of the specimen but this does not distract from its great frontal and side views.  An excellent display specimen.   160$

OKF-129    Fluorite with Chalcopyrites     RESERVED    Minerva #1 Mine, Harden Co. Illinois .  Ex. Nancy Collins Collection.  It's perfect rich yellow, high luster fluorite specimen with a rectangle or primary crystal which measures 2.3 cm on edge.  Central faces slightly hoppered and there is a thin rind of very light blue fluorite encasing the entire piece.  This is a very fine toenail size specimen measuring 3.5 x 3.2 x 2.7 cm overall.  An old collection number partially remains the back of the piece.  Damage free and very aesthetic.   185$

Nancy Collins Collection.  A classic specimen measuring 6.2 x 4 x 1.8 cm.  A perfect mix of high luster quartz points and thin and hematite blades.  Two spots on the front have a couple blades missing, otherwise damage free.  A very desirable European classic.  160$

OKF-131    Vanadinite on Wulfenite    Ahumada Mine, Los Lamentos, Chihuahua, Mexico.  Ex. W.P. Hinley Collection, Circ. 1930s.  This specimen is a fine miniature composed of blocky wulfenite crystals to 1.4 cm on edge.  The entire specimen measures 5.4 x 5 x 3.3 cm.  The front sideshows better luster and less coating from the brown vanadinite.  This front side is perfect in all regards.  The backside is more heavily coated and has a few crystals are chipped.  The stack of crystals is very aesthetically composed having several hollow areas between crystals.  These blocky butterscotch colored vanadinite crystals show two different colors forming distinct layers in every crystal.  The color ranges from butterscotch in one layer to a reddish-brown any underlying layer.  This is a highly desirable and aesthetic display piece.  $500

OKF-132    Fluorite on Sphalerite    Carthage, Tennessee.  This specimen measures 8.9 x 6 x 3 .8 cm and stands on edge nicely for display.  The light purple cubes measure to 1.5 cm each and are nicely spaced amongst the gemmy sphalerite crystals.  There is peripheral damage and one small corner ding to the largest fluorite, thus the low price.  Still very attractive and desirable.  $100

OKF-133    Calcite with Chalcopyrite on Dolomite    Sweetwater mine, Viburnum Trend, Reynolds County, Missouri.  Ex.  Jim Turek Collection.  A wonderful display specimen with two primary calcites, the largest measuring 6.8 cm. this specimen is a floater and fully mineralized on both sides.  One edge has a tiny matrix contact and a smaller crystal has a small cleaved on its backside which is not visible in the frontal view.  The largest Crystal is a superb example with many gemmy regions, a complex form and rich yellow color.  11 x 7 x 4 cm overall size.  An excellent example for this location.  $300

OKF-134    Fluorite    Rosiclare Level, Denton Mine, Harris Creek District, Illinois.  Ex. Jim Turek Collection.  This deep purple specimen shows nice zone growth and a hoppered surface development.  There tiny calcites sprinkled here and there on these fine fluorites which measure up to 4 cm on edge.  The entire specimen is 9 x 5.9 x 5.4 cm.  If use nicely from the front and sides and has no damage to these primary crystals all contact is on back and bottom but that is also minimal.  A fine piece of can be displayed in several ways.  A desirable American classic.  $260

OKF-135    Rhodochrosite on Quartz with Sphalerite, Pyrite and Hubnerite    RESERVED   Sweet Home mine, Alma, Colorado.  Ex. Jim Turek Collection.  This cabinet size specimen measures 11 x 7.7 cm industry .5 cm thick, sawn flat on its backside.  The crystals range from a light read tipping color and are dispersed within the clear to white colored quartz crystals.  Some of the rhodos have cleaves are damage but in general I would describe this specimen is a good example which displays well.  The rhodos measure to 1.5 cm on edge.  The low price reflects the damage.  $200

OKF-136    Fluorite on Sphalerite    Cave-In-Rock, Illinois.  Ex. Greg Kruse Collection.  The crystalline sphalerite matrix has numerous fluorites to 2.4 cm on edge each.  Most of the crystals are highly hoppered with a very light yellow central core and zoned blue exteriors.  The specimen sits on edge nicely and displays well.  An almost floater specimen which has won contact zone on which the piece sets.  Minor rubs to the base of some sphalerites.  An excellent specimen.  $150

OKF-137    Sphalerite with Siderite    Eagle Mine, Gilman, Colorado.  Ex. Jim Turek Collection.  A superior display piece from Colorado measuring 9 x 5 x 3 cm.  It sits on edge and displays a fully crystallized frontal face that is extremely aesthetic.  The siderites are tabular and light tan in color and perfectly dispersed within the sphalerites.  The sphalerites show two types of crystal face development: the first is highly lustrous mirror like faces, while the second harvest slightly lower luster with unique surface feature growths.  A great specimen for the Colorado collector.  $750

Hobart Jones Collection.  An absolutely superb small cabinet specimen which measures 7 x 4 x 4 cm.  Numerous complete casts which are damage free extend up high off the matrix.  A highly desirable and aesthetic New Jersey specimen.  This piece displays well from all sides showing some edge contact on all sides.  A killer specimen.  $250

OKF-139    Wulfenite    Los Lamentos, Chihuahua, Mexico.  Ex. Jim Turek Collection.  This large 7 x 7 x 5 cm Crystal grouping is composed of several layers of well formed, high luster wulfenite crystals.  They are somewhat Birrell shaped, which is a typical for the location, and up to 1 cm in length.  Under magnification I can only find one small crystal missing on the front side.  One edge has some matrix contact, otherwise it is a floater.  Backside of grouping is more highly stained and has several dings or missing crystals.  The display face in this piece is wonderful and it sits well for display on several sides (edges).  A very desirable modern-day classic.  $400

OKF-141    Fluorite on Sphalerite with Barite    Carthage, Tennessee.  This fine large plate of damage free crystals measures 11 x 10 cm and is approximately 3 cm thick.  The very clusters give nice contrast to the darker sphalerites in purple fluorites.  The fluorites reach 1.2 cm on edge each and have nice deeper purple spot like inclusions unselected faces.  An excellent specimen for the locality.  $400

OKF-142    Fluorite on Sphalerite    Carthage, Tennessee.  A somewhat triangular specimen measuring 9.7 x 7 x 5 cm with light purple fluorites to 1.8 cm on edge each.  The fluorites of slightly curved faces an excellent form the largest pair sit high on the piece with greater than normal relief.  When the sphalerites near the top edge of specimen is cleaved otherwise the specimen is in great shape.  Nice high luster to all minerals and the piece displays well in several positions.  $300

Nancy Collins Collection.  This 4.6 x 3 x 2.8 cm specimen has a seam of well formed legrandite crystals in clusters of radiating needles.  They are bright color and standout nicely on the dark matrix.  Desirable material which is now difficult to get.  Minor Styrofoam attached which should be removed.  $60

Nancy Collins Collection.  Several light blue fluorites to 1.6 cm on edge form a cluster measuring 2.7 x 2.7 x 1.9 cm in size.  Each cube has a beautiful bright purple phantom within it.  Calcite crystals are present on the backside so the specimen has rehealed on most surfaces.  A killer thumbnail specimen.  Some minor blue fun tack still attached to crystals underside.  $90

OKF-145    Calcite with Marcasite    RESERVED    Cheney quarry, Bellevue, Michigan .  Ex. Nancy Collins Collection.  A fine grouping of schalenohedral crystals with tiny spots of marcasite as inclusions and on the calcite’s surface.  The backside of the specimen is solid marcasite.  The piece measures 7.3 x 5 x 3 cm and had attachment on both ends of the specimen.  A cluster of use nicely, as good form, nice luster and is reasonably priced at $45

OKF-147    Jamesonite with Pyrite and Quartz    RESERVED  El Sombrete, Durango, Mexico.  Ex. Nancy Collins Collection.  This bright specimen measures 6 x 2.7 x 3.3 cm and is composed of numerous needles of well formed Jamesonite crystals to 2.5 cm each.  Mixed within these needles are nice modified cubes of lustrous pyrite.  The majority of the crystals are crudely terminated.  A very fine specimen but locale.  450$

OKF-148    Quartz and Chamosite    RESERVED    Rt #58 Road Cut, Québec, Canada.  Ex.  Dr. Steve Chamberlain Collection.  This is one of the better chamosite included clusters that the  Locality produced it does have damage or a tiny crystal is missing near the termination.  The larger crystal it looks broken off near the termination is actually regrown.  Several crystals including the largest were once attached to the wall rock.  Even considering these issues, the pieces of exceptional form luster and size.  The primary crystal measures 9.5 cm.  $125

OKF-149    Acroite    Swakopmund, S.W. Africa.  Ex. Nancy Collins Collection.  The small cabin specimen displays a 2.2 cm long acroite crystal lightly embedded in a tan colored rock matrix.  The tourmaline grades from a very light green to clear it is totally gemmy throughout.  The termination is not complete on the end where the crystal is clear.  This and most of once been embedded in matrix and was subsequently chipped.  The piece does not appear repaired because the crystal’s green section is well embedded in the matrix.  7.7 x 4.4 x 3.5 cm overall.  The photo shows the tourmaline to be darker than it really is.  It IS clear for much of the crystal’s length.  Very desirable and rare tourmaline.  $310

OKF-150    Benitoite and Neptunite    San Benito, California.  Ex. Nancy Collins Collection.  This attractive specimen measures 7.3 x 3.8 x 3.1 cm.  Its primary display face boasts a lustrous, double terminated, 1.8 cm neptunite crystal.  Others are present as well, including one which is broken off near the termination of the primary neptunite.  There is also one small benitoite which is approximately .4 cm on edge.  It is somewhat hidden near the upper edge of the piece.  $125
