Herkimer Diamond Cluster Mineral Specimens For Sale

All of the above specimens are Herkimer diamond clusters from Herkimer Diamond Mines and Resort in Middleville, New York

Herkimer diamonds can form quite dramatic mineral specimens when they are together in interlocking or parallel growth clusters.  Due to natural factors such as tectonic activity these cluster seldom come out of the pocket still attached to one another as a group.  These clusters are generally reassembled even though it seldom will say so on the piece.  We will try to be clear as to which groups are reassembled and which are natural groups that were not reassembled (these are quite rare).

Read our book on these important crystals and how to mine them...

OKN-837      Herkimer Diamond    Herkimer Diamond Mines and Resort, Middleville, New York.  Collected by Jay Walter, October 29, 2014.  "The Three Amigos".  An attractive display with three reassembled crystals increasing in size and splaying outward evenly as they go from left to right, or vice versa.  They measure 6.1 x 4.6 x 3 cm overall.  A small enhydro blow-out on one face of center crystal as seen in second image, so I'd call that the backside.  Crystal contact on edge of largest crystal.  Really, in very good condition overall.  Very aesthetic and interesting in form for a Herkimer cluster.  Not at all the usual look to this piece.  $375

OKN-851

OKN-851      Herkimer Diamond    Herkimer Diamond Mines and Resort, Middleville, New York.  Collected by Jay Walter, October 29, 2014.  3.8 x 3.2 x 2.8 cm crystal with moderate inclusions and a base contact from another crystal.  No damage.  The really weird thing is visible in the second image.  There is a frosted contact that looks just like a pinnicoid termination!  Really strange (I have to assume it is a natural contact... it can't possibly be a face!), I've never seen this in any of the tens of thousands of Herkimer diamonds I have inspected.  A nice aesthetic and an unusual piece.  $200

OKN-854

OKN-8454      Herkimer Diamond    Herkimer Diamond Mines and Resort, Middleville, New York.  Collected by Jay Walter, October 29, 2014.  This is one of the finest from this recently acquired material.  Approximately ten crystals, the largest three in parallel growth, are reconstructed into this tight cluster that measures 6.8 x 6.5 x 6.3 cm.  A couple micro abrasions on what I'd call the base.  The two biggest crystals look cloudy in the images but they are actually quite good and the other crystals are excellent for clarity.  Exceptional group.  $700

OKN-845      Herkimer Diamond    Herkimer Diamond Mines and Resort, Middleville, New York.  Collected by Jay Walter, October 29, 2014.  Six crystals compose this 3.6 x 3.3 x 1.9 cm reconstructed group with the largest crystal measuring 2.9 cm.   A spotless grouping with no points of attachment and no damage.  Some hydrocarbon inclusions but only minor as these crystals are very clear compared to normal Herks.  Back side has one crystal with some clay inclusion on one large face as seen in the second image.  A very fine example of exceptionally high quality.  $325

OKN-846

OKN-846      Herkimer Diamond    Herkimer Diamond Mines and Resort, Middleville, New York.  Collected by Jay Walter, October 29, 2014.  .3 x 5.1 x 3.5 cm overall. This reconstructed cluster is dominated by two large crystals (one is 5.5 and the clearest one is 4.3 cm) and composed of four main crystals and several small embedded ones.  A couple VERY shallow attachment marks from other crystals and VERY minor chatter on one large crystal but both things require magnification to see.  The biggest crystal has minor anthraxolite inclusions and on small dolomite rhomb all in the back  This is a fine group of high aesthetics better than most you will see.  Displays great!!  $500

OKN-847

OKN-847      Herkimer Diamond    Herkimer Diamond Mines and Resort, Middleville, New York.  Collected by Jay Walter, October 23, 2014.  A very clear Herk with one smaller rider.  The piece measures 3.2 x 2.1 x 2 cm.  Chipping on the rider and one small chip on larger crystal but they still display very nicely.  $65

OKN-849

Back or bottom side

OKN-849      Herkimer Diamond    Herkimer Diamond Mines and Resort, Middleville, New York.  Collected by Jay Walter, October 23, 2014.  A dozen primary crystals make up this reconstructed cluster.  It measures 9 x 4.4 x 2.5 cm.  There is minor chipping to several crystals and one is repaired.  Overall it displays very nicely, especially on edge.  The crystals are clearer than most and the crystals are consistent for their clarity... not a few clear and a few milky like most clusters.  A very nice example that displays well from both the back and the front.  $600

OKN-850

OKN-850      Herkimer Diamond    Herkimer Diamond Mines and Resort, Middleville, New York.  Collected by Jay Walter, October 29, 2014.  Five crystals in this reconstructed cluster.  It measures 5.3 x 4.5 x 4 cm with the largest crystal being 4.5 cm.  There is no damage to the group and only a couple shallow contacts visible from the back (or base if it is displayed in that way).  The crystals are actually clearer than they appear and the inclusions are actually attractive... one spot shows a nice rainbow.  Displays very nicely from any direction and sits well.  Excellent piece.  $375
