OKE-305

OKD-305    Dioptase   Tsumeb, S. W. Africa.   Ex. Nancy Collins Collection.  Add some flash to your mineral display…this brilliant green specimen is composed of sharply formed crystals to .7 cm each.  They are intergrown and form waves crystals thickly coating the majority of the piece.  There is only one small contact area which makes this specimen almost stalactitic in form.  Zero damage even under magnification.  6.8 x 3.5 x 3 cm overall.  Outstanding specimen.  280$

OKE-361

Back with albite coating.

OKE-361    Tourmaline    Paprok, Kunar Prov., Afghanistan.   Three beautiful green crystals in tight parallel growth reaching 6.2 cm and .7 cm thick.  Gem crystals of predominantly green color which transition to pink at the terminations.  The terminations are complex, the luster exceptionally high and the piece is damage free.  Albite coats part of one side and base.  Exceptionally clean tourmaline specimen.  Greens are slightly lighter than the image indicates.  425$

Art Edwards Collection.  BIG crystal of this rare species which measures 3.1 x 2.8 x 1.8 overall.  Nice purple color and excellent form to this single terminated crystal.  Luster is also excellent.  There is minor albite on terminal face.  Very displayable crystal.  490$

OKE-367

OKE-367    Natrolite    Zinc Mountain Ridge, Moose Creek Valley, Ice River, British Columbia, Canada.  Ex. Steve Chamberlain Collection, Prev. Canadian Museum of Nature, 1982.  This is one of those exceptionally rare specimens that is tough to find on the market.  2.9 cm gem clear crystal which is nicely double terminated.  No damage to this fine TN.  Excellent provenance.  100$

OKE-369

OKE-369    Natrolite    Ice River Complex, Yoho National Park, British Columbia, Canada.  Ex. Steve Chamberlain Collection, Prev. Canadian Museum of Nature, 1982.  This is an exceptionally rare specimen that is not for everyone.  It is a 2.8 cm double terminated crystal.  Crystal clear with a very tiny contact on basal termination which is visible with magnification.  Beautifully formed and flawless.  Rare, rare, rare and from a National park so that’s all she wrote on these specimens!  390$

OKE-371    Fluorite on Quartz     RESERVED   Francon Quarry, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.  Ex. Steve Chamberlain Collection, Prev. FIGURED SPECIMEN in the German publication Mineralieu Welt (Mineral World) in the early 1990s.  I do not have the article but assume this specimen took a fine pic (hopefully better than mine!).  The purple fluorites are almost micro and coat the majority of the parallel growth sceptered quartz.  A fine TN specimen which Dr. Chamberlain collected from the now closed quarry in 1977.  A fine, damage free, aesthetic specimen.  2 x 1.5 x .9 cm overall.  295$

OKE-372

OKE-372    Prehnite     RESERVED   Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos, Quebec, Canada.  Ex. Steve Chamberlain Collection.  Perhaps one of the best Jeffrey Mine TN specimen I have seen!  This cluster is a complete, damage free floater.  Tiny sprays of natriolite as an accessory can be seen between these fine, translucent, light green crystals of prehnite.  Every crystal is double terminated and in spectacular form.  Nice prehnites from this location are not commonplace.  2.9 x 2.6 x 2.1 cm.  Another competition grade piece.   I’d expect this specimen to be triple this price with most other dealers.  195$

OKE-373

Back.

OKE-373    Weloganite    Francon Quarry, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.  Ex. Steve Chamberlain Collection.  Great Mineralogical Record issue dedicated to this now permanently closed locality (Ref. Min. Record Jan- Feb. 2006, Vol # 37, No. 1).  Exceptional specimen in all regards…2.9 cm ranks this as very large for this rare species, which is from its type locality.  The luster, translucence and yellow color are all top of the line.  This particular crystal is the largest I have ever owned and the only one I would describe as being double terminated.  There is a tiny contact on one termination where it may have been loosely connected to matrix.  Minor white coating is likely Franconite (also type locality for the species).  Amazing single crystal with a couple of very tiny rider crystals.  Specimen has more of a yellow color than the photo indicates.  One of the finest TN specimens I have ever owned.  600$

OKE-374

OKE-374    Weloganite    Francon Quarry, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.  Ex. Steve Chamberlain Collection.  Great Mineralogical Record issue dedicated to this now permanently closed locality (Ref. Min. Record Jan- Feb. 2006, Vol # 37, No. 1).  WOW!  These crystals always seem to be a small crystal with a huge chunk of non-trimable matrix or with no matrix at all.  This is one of only a couple I have ever seen which has large crystals and minor (just the right amount) of matrix.  There are several large crystals here, to 1.6 cm each in crude parallel growth.  Rare growth zoning and unknowns here too.  Small clear crystals on the weloganites and tiny black spots that are who knows what.  Specimen has more of a yellow color than the photo indicates.  Piece measures 2.7 x 2.7 x 2.1 cm.  Zero damage.  Amazing TN specimen!

OKE-375

Back...a bit too yellow.

OKE-375    Natrolite on Analcime    De Mix Quarry, Mt. St-Hilaire, Quebec, Canada.  Ex. Dr. Steve Chamberlain Collection.  Beautiful aesthetics displayed in this piece.  Nicely formed translucent natrolites stand up vertically off an analcime ball.  Minor arfvedsonite.  Very neat!  No damage in a matrix contact so small you will have to search with magnification to find it.  2.9 x 1.5 x 1.5 cm.  This one should go fast.  95$

OKE-376

OKE-376    Natrolite    De Mix Quarry, Mt. St-Hilaire, Quebec, Canada.  Ex. Dr. Steve Chamberlain Collection.  This single crystal has the appearance of frosted glass.  It is gemmy inside with minor fracturing.  It is a single terminated piece measuring 2.5 x 1.3 x .7 cm.  No damage.  Some hot glue adhering to base of crystal.  65$

OKE-377

OKE-377    Astrophyllite on Analcime and Aegirine    De Mix Quarry, Mt. St-Hilaire, Quebec, Canada.  Ex. Dr. Steve Chamberlain Collection, Prev. Canadian Museum of Nature Collection   Stuning contrast of crystal shapes and color make this a highly aesthetic and desirable specimen.  One natrolite appears to not be terminated but I find no damage to anything else in this wild mix.  3.5 x 2.5 x 2 cm.  I’ll let the images speak for the quality of this specimen.  250$

OKE-378

OKE-378    Astrophyllite on Aegirine    De Mix Quarry, Mt. St-Hilaire, Quebec, Canada.  Ex. Dr. Steve Chamberlain Collection, Prev. Canadian Museum of Nature Collection.   Another amazingly aesthetic specimen.  Damage free mix of intergrown crystals.  Displays great!  200$

OKE-380

OKE-380    Weloganite    Francon Quarry, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.  Ex. Steve Chamberlain Collection, Prev. Canadian Museum of Nature.  Great Mineralogical Record issue dedicated to this now permanently closed locality (Ref. Min. Record Jan- Feb. 2006, Vol # 37, No. 1).  Beautiful 1.6 cm hourglass shaped crystal of a rare species from its type locality.  Specimen has more of a yellow color than the photo indicates.  Luster, form, color and lack of damage make this piece a winner.  225$

OKE-381

OKE-382

OKE-382     Copper included Caclite    Quincy Mine, Hancock, Michigan.  Ex. Nancy Collins Collection.  As I imagine most readers know these specimens are tough to get in any size.  This specimen is small, 3.3 x 2.2 x 1.5 cm, but has great color and luster.  Several crystals are on matrix.  Nice.  195$

OKE-383

OKE-383    Wulfenite    Los Lomentos Mine, Chihuahua, Mexico.  Ex. Nancy Collins Collection.  Big orange translucent crystals in an atypical for.  These barrel shaped crystals are in parallel growth and on minor matrix.  No damage but some mounting adhesive is present on base of piece.  3 x 2.6 x 1.7 cm overall.  200

OKE-384

OKE-384    Vanadinite and Calcite   San Carlos, Chihuahua, Mexico.  Ex. Nancy Collins Collection.   This is an exceptionally large single crystal, 3.5 x 2.4 x 2 cm, which is highly hoppered in form.  The crystal is translucent and ranges from mostly green in its body to orange at its termination.  Only one tiny basal contact.  Partial old collection #.  The calcites are clear/ white and scattered about in a very aesthetic manner.  This is certainly a very displayable and desirable specimen.  240$

OKE-385

OKE-385    Peridote    St. Johns Island, Red Sea, Egypt.  Ex. Art Edwards.  Location, location, location…rare piece for sure from the classic site for this mineral.  I can’t imagine many people have one of these in their collection.  This specimen is a flawlwss gem under 10x magnification.  2.1 x 1.5 x .7 cm single crystal with single termination and light striations.  A rare gem in deed.  350$

OKE-386

OKE-386    Datolite    Primorskiy Kray, Far Eastern Region, Russia.  Ex. Art Edwards, Prev. Dr. E. E. Davids Collection.  This enormous crystal has a wonderful apple green color and is translucent to gemmy.  7.5 x 6.5 x 4.5 cm.  High luster, great form…it is no wonder why this crystal has a nice provenance.  Zero damage.  An exceptional piece for the price being asked.  490$

OKE-387

OKE-387    Cobaltian Calcite    Bou Azzer, Morocco.  Ex. Art Edwards Collection.  Beautiful calcites of pink color and columnar crystal form.  The coating on this matrix specimen is rich and there is absolutely no damage.  Great display piece which would add color to any mineral cabinet.  9.5 x 5.5 x 5 cm overall.  280$

OKE-388

OKE-388    Phenakite    Marambaia Mine, Treis Barras, Minas Gerais, Brazil.  Ex. Art Edwards Collection.  This is a killer phenakite!  A big crystal at 4.5 x 2.3 x 2.1 cm which is clear with minor to moderate internal halos and great luster.  Chatter marks along back edge where two faces contact otherwise in good shape.  490$

OKE-389

OKE-389    Columbite    Sao Jose da Safira.  Ex. Art Edward Collection.  A fine and displayable crystal of a rare mineral.  This stocky crystal measures 4.4 x 3.3 x 1.4 cm overall.  The color is a metallic gray.  The luster is good on this opaque crystal and there is minimal damage most of which is crystal contacts to the basal region of the specimen.  Only one small chip to upper regions.  An exceptional specimen for this price…210$

OKE-390

Back.

OKE-390    Cubanite    Henderson Mine #2, Chibongamau, Quebec, Canada.  Ex. Art Edwards Collection.  This is a very special and rare specimen.  It is an unusually large piece measuring 5.5 x 4.2 x 1.5 cm.  It shows the classic crystal form and is composed of several intergrown crystals none of which are totally complete.  Main face is highly displayable.  A choice piece of rare mineral here.  The price sounds high but it is far less than most others I have seen of this size.  4,200$

OKE-391

OKE-391    Calcite on Dolomite and Chalcopyrite    Tri State Mining District, Pitcher, Oklahoma.  Ex. Art Edwards Collection.  Oh my…this is the nicest cabinet specimen I have seen of this material.  Beautiful inclusions in the calcites, impeccable form and top shelf quality.  One backside crystal is cleaved at tip but no other damage even very close to the edges.  Fine displayable pieces like this one are certainly not common place.  This could be the best value in the entire listing.  240$

OKE-392

OKE-392    Tourmaline    Momeik, Burma.  Ex. Art Edwards Collection.  This is another rare find…one in a thousand (literally!) are of this green color instead of the typical pink.  This one is huge, translucent and of the rare color variety.  8.5 x 5.5 x 6 cm in size.  Back view is poor but front and sides are outstanding.  Classic form, nice luster, damage free and very displayable.  For the tourmaline collector looking for the unusual at a fine price.  700$
