OKK-813     Grossular and Clinopyroxene    York River Skarn Zone, near Bancroft, Ontario, Canada.  Collected by Michael Walter, Summer 1999.  Location is now a Provincial Park and closed to collecting.  This crystal aggragate is actually a single crystal with others on its surface.  It measures 5.5 x 5 x 4.5 cm.  The white areas are brucite coatings.  I would describe this as having no damage and one contact on its backside.  Some areas are beautifully formed while others (those areas associated with the brucite) are somewhat morphed.  VERY large garnet for this location.  Excellent luster, translucent in areas… exceptional for one of these.  Mounted in a miniature sized perky box.  $195
