OKP-644      Spinel      Bathhurst Township, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.  Ex. Dr. Steve Chamberlain collection.  Prev. Dr. George Robinson, circ. 1980.  I am not familiar with this specimen location but these guys know their Canadian minerals so I have no doubt that it is legitimate.  The spinel is magnificent and similar, but different in ways, to those from the Parker Mine in Québec.  It measures 3.5 x 2.6 x 2.3 cm and is a damage-free floater.  Small areas of this complex crystal have been pseudomorphed by an unidentified species.  The luster is excellent and the form interesting and attractive.  What a great mineral specimen!   $300

OKP-650      Amethyst        Pohndorf Mine, Jefferson County, Montana.  Ex. Dr. Steve Chamberlain collection, prev. Tiffany Jewelers.  This is obviously an old specimen from an unusual locality.  It is doubly terminated, dirty lo0king but interesting.  The top half of the crystal shows excellent color, clarity, and is partially skeletal.  It measures 3.2 x 2.5 x 2 cm and has a historic tag affixed to it.  Minor chipping, but overall, in very good condition.  $95

Dr. Steve Chamberlain collection.  Circ. 1984.  This single crystal measures 3.2 x 2 x 1 cm and is a nicely formed floater.  It is free of any damage and shows alteration to leucoxine on one side and no pseudomorphing on the other.  A very nice example of this material.  $45

Dr. Steve Chamberlain collection.  This small pseudomorph measures 2.4 x 1.2 x 1.1 cm.  The backside is more displayable with the casts being open and attractive (sorry, I forgot to photograph this view).  Its a floater with no damage and has blue putty on base, as seen.  $60
