OKP-584

OKP-584       Prehnite    Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos, Quebec, Canada.  Ex. Dr. Steve Chamberlain collection.  Circ. 1981.  This one is a really rare thing.  It measures 2 x 1.7 x 1.6 cm and is interesting, rare, and aesthetic.  The crystals are quite unique for prehnite... the color is unique for prehnite... the locality is very desirable and seldom produces prehnite, especially in this color.  It originated with Canadian mineral expert Frank Melanson and there is no doubt that it is what-it-is.  Minor edge contact shows two very tiny crystals on one edge missing.  It would be described as damage-free because even more edge issues from removal would be expected.  The crystals are transparent to translucent and extremely sharp in for.  An excellent thumbnail specimen in every regard.  Attractively mounted in a perky box, as seen.    $650
