OKN-149

OKN-149      Calcite on Heulandite      Nashik District, Maharashtra, India.  An exceptional example of what, in other colors and forms, would be common material.  This miniature has no true front as all sides are simply beautiful.  Highly translucent (in some areas transparent) pair of interlocking, double terminated crystals with a light dusting of light yellow calcites in some regions.  Minor base/matrix contact with no damage or other contacts.  EXCEPTIONAL.  6 x 4.8 x 3.7 cm.  Extremely high luster, nicely curved surfaces.  Better in-hand.  The quality of this piece is way beyond what most see in these Indian specimens.  $225

OKN-153

OKN-153     Fluorite with Calcite    Xinyang Mine, Henan Province, China.  Bright green material first seen in 2014.  The example here has minor stringers of double terminated yellow calcites as an accent to the wonderful crystals.  Their interiors are transparent and their surfaces entirely coated by cubic modifications that are so prominent that the original crystals look botryoidal.  9.7 x 9.3 x 3.9 cm overall.  No damage.  Should be cleaned.  $175

OKN-154

OKN-154     Twinned Calcite on Calcite Boxwork    Tongloushan Excavation Site, Slag Locality, Daye County, Huangshi Prefecture, Hubei Province, China.  Very attractive clear calcite twins to 5 cm each in calcite boxwork.  New material, I believe in 2015, that will rank high in a world-wide comparison for this common species.  The twin planes are thin and at first not very noticeable.  The crystal's luster is very good to excellent (depending on the crystal and the crystal face).  No damage.  I've looked over many of these and only invested in the finest in clarity and lack of damage.  This one is certainly better in person.  12 x 8.5 x 8 cm overall.  No damage.  One crystal stands up very high in relief while others are deeper in the boxwork.  Nice!   $425

OKN-155     Twinned Calcite on Calcite Boxwork    Tongloushan Excavation Site, Slag Locality, Daye County, Huangshi Prefecture, Hubei Province, China.  Very attractive clear calcite twins to 5.2 cm each in calcite boxwork.  New material, I believe in 2015, that will rank high in a world-wide comparison for this common species.  The twin planes are thin and at first not very noticeable.  The crystal's luster is excellent (better depending on the crystal and the crystal face).  No damage.  I've looked over many of these and only invested in the finest in clarity and lack of damage.  This one is certainly better in person and one of the best I found.  10.5 x 9 x 7 cm overall.  All three of the dominant crystals are in high in relief while others are deeper in the boxwork.   Tiny crystal on back is cleaved.  Excellent condition!  $600

OKN-156

OKN-156      Fluorite     Xianghuapu Mine, Hunan Province, China.  An exceptional example of more common material from China.... This is on matrix (uncommon), damage free and only shows a couple edge contacts.  Nice color, great transparency, modifications by dodechahedral form have cubic overgrowths.  12.5 x 9 x 4.5 cm.  This created a really attractive contrast often missing in this material but not missing in this example.  Great piece!  $350
