OKN-652

OKN-652    Ferroaxinite     Polar Urals, Russia.  4.7 x 2,6 x .7 cm single crystal of the normal light purple color.  This one is super sharp (literally) with excellent transparency, moderate internal fracturing, and a very high luster.  Minor edge crazing is present in places but overall the specimen is in good condition. Both sides are equally display worthy.  $65

OKM-755

OKN-755    Amethyst     Blue Points Mine, near Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada.  Collected by Michael Walter in the early 1990s.  An "Amethyst Button" as they are referred to in the north.  4 x 3.3 x 1.3 cm.  Fully healed on backside...floater.  Typical slightly brown color due to hematite inclusions.  High luster, no damage.  These buttons are not common and this one is perfect.  $50

OKN-653

Bottom showing casts after barite

OKN-653     Fluorite     Madoc, Ontario, Canada.  Collected by Michael Walter in the early 1990s.  Very nice blue fluorite coated by oxidized pyrite.  Needs to be soaked in Iron Out several times to return the pyrite color/luster.  As is it is it is a 10 x 8 x 3 cm plate that is a cast over barite.  The barite domes and blades are very evident. No damage.  "As is"  $45

OKN-654

OKN-654      Rhodochrosite      N’Chwaning Mine, Kalahari Manganese Fields, North Cape Province, South Africa.  Ex. Thomas Fowler collection.  Circ. 1970s.  Obviously not the bright transparent red rhodochrosite for which the mines are so famous.  The rhodo specimen is a heavy coating of crystals to several millimeters each.  They have excellent luster and are bright pink as seen here.  The first image, bottom right on edge, shows and open case which makes it likely that the larger domes on the piece are casts after an unidentified rhombohedral mineral.  There is no damage to the display surface and it measures 8.2 x 6.65 x 3.5 cm.  Slightly domical and somewhat triangular in shape.  Very nice example.  $450

OKK-698

OKK-698    Apophyllite, Stilbite and Laumontite     Panvel, Maharashtra, India.  A flower like dome of pink stilbite with a blocky green apophyllite sitting on it.  A very clean , damage free piece.  Even nice around the edges!  9.5 x 8.5 x 4.2 cm.  An excellent example.  $120

OKN-655

OKN-655     Lazulite with Quartz     Rapid Creek, Yukon, Canada.  Ex. Nancy Collins collection.  6 x 2.9 x 2.1 cm blocky plate coated by crystals front, longest side and about 50% of back.  Front is the best with large deep blue lazulites and clear to yellow quartz.  Another miner in small crystals is present (probably wardite).  This example has just the right mix of species and dispersion of them so you can clearly make out the crystals.  Not one color, not intergrown so badly it is difficult to view.  This one is an attractive piece and well priced.  $75
