Diopside on Manebach twin

OKR-168    Albite (var. Antiperthite) and Diopside     "The Lunch Break Pocket", Rose Road Wollastonite Occurrence, Pitcairn, St. Lawrence County, New York.  Collected by Michael Walter, Summer 2006.  This domical plate of white albites have numerous small doubly-terminated diopside crystals that stand out in high relief.  The piece measures 5.8 x 4.7 x 3 cm and is damage-free.  Twinned crystals like these are exceptionally rare for the location and this is a fine example from a well documented find.  $150

Partially open backside

OKR-169    Quartz cast (mold?) after Anhydrite      Roncari Quarry, (Tilcon Quarry), East Granby, Hartford, Connecticut.  Collected by Jerry Marchand.  This is an excetional damage-free floater that shows an open region on the back displaying the fact that it is a mold that once contained a tabular ahhydrite crystal.  It measures 4.6 x 4.4 x 2 cm.  It even stands on edge as seen in the photos.  I have quite a few of these but this is among the best, possibly the best miniature.  $275

OKR-171    Fluorapatite on Wollastonite     Rose Road Wollastonite Occurrence, Pitcairn, St. Lawrence County, New York.  Collected by Michael Walter, July 2016.  This piece measures 10.2 x 7 x 5 cm and has one face covered by blue apatites to 3 cm each.  Many are not terminated or only crudely terminated.  One of the rare species from this find.  This piece sits nicely, as shown.  $80

OKR-172    Fluorite on Quartz    Nashik District, Maharashtra, India.  This translucent yellow fluorite sphere sits up high on an attractive bed of white and purple, lustrous quartz.  The piece has nice luster and form.  The fluorite measures 2.5 cm in diameter and has an interesting two-toned effect.  It is an exceptional damage-free example of this material.  8 x 8 x 5 cm.  $395

OKR-173    Corundum    Kleggasen Ruby Quarry, Froland, Aust-Agder, Norway.  Ex Harold Dibble collection.  This large example measures 9 x 8.6 x 4 cm and the embedded corundum crystals are highly fluorescent.  $90

OKR-175    Fluorite on Quartz    Shangbao Mine, Leiyang County, Henyang Prefecture, Hunan Province, China.  This domical piece has large, complex fluorites to over 4 cm each that sit up high on a druse of quartz.  Every view is outstanding and there is now damage anywhere.  Good transparency with nice purple internal coloring.  It has a frosted luster which is unusual for these specimens.  That is not a plus to most collectors so the price on this one is exceptionally low for an example of this form and size.  13.5 x 7.5 x 6.4 cm.  $395

OKR-176      Grossular, Diopside, Calcite    York River Skarn Zone, near Bancroft, Ontario, Canada.  Collected by Michael and Jay Walter, 1994.  This example is a fine cabinet specimen displaying large garnets and minor diopside from a now closed locality.  There is no damage but there are contact areas, as seen.  it sits and displays beautifully.  9.2 x 8 x 7.1 cm.  $395

OKR-177    Quartz     Ron Coleman Mine, near Hot Springs, Arkansas.  Nice large clear points dominate this 11.7 x 9 x 4 cm cluster.  No damage.  $145
